Mold follows water. We start with the water, then deal with the damage it caused.
We find the wet area, contain it, remove the damaged material, clean, dry, and document the whole job, so you know what was done and why.
Damp or flooded basements measured, dried, and documented, with the water source tracked down so the problem doesn't just come back.
Plumbing leaks, roof leaks, and other water damage. We find where the water went, remove what can't be saved, and dry what can.
Moisture readings, photos, and a written plan give you a clear record of the damage and the work, which is useful when you file a claim.
For landlords and property managers: mold and water jobs in occupied or vacant units, with documentation you can keep in the unit's file.
Emergency water and mold calls are answered 24/7. Regular hours are Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
How we work
We compete on honest work with proof, not on being the cheapest. Here's what happens on every job.
Request a visit online or call. A photo of the problem helps us understand what we're walking into. Emergencies are answered 24/7.
We take moisture readings and before photos, and we find the water source and write it down. If it's something we can't fix, we'll tell you who can.
Before work starts, you get a written plan that says what we'll do. You sign it, and you keep a copy.
Containment is set up before any demo, so the work stays in the work area and not in the rest of your home.
Damaged material comes out and the area gets cleaned. We remove the problem instead of covering it up.
Drying equipment stays until the moisture readings show dry. The readings decide when we're done, not the calendar.
We finish with after photos and a record of the job: readings, photos, and the signed plan.
After the equipment is picked up, our office calls you within 72 hours to check in.
Spraying a product on mold and walking away doesn't fix the water that caused it. We find the water, take out what's damaged, dry it out, and show you the readings.
You'll be able to get your job report (photos, moisture readings, and your signed plan) right here on this site.
Why First Due
In the fire service, the first due company is the one that's supposed to get there first and handle the call.
First Due Mold is owned by Jacob Moyers, a firefighter. The name is a reminder of how the job should go: show up, find the problem, handle it properly, and be straight with people about what was done.
“First Due Mold exists to find the water, take out the mold the right way, and leave the customer with a dry house and a record they can trust.”

FAQ
General information, consistent with U.S. EPA guidance. Every home is different, so we'll talk through your situation on the visit.
According to the EPA, the key to mold control is moisture control. If mold is cleaned up but the water problem isn't fixed, the mold is likely to come back. That's why every job starts with finding and documenting the water source.
The EPA recommends drying water-damaged areas and items within 24 to 48 hours to help prevent mold growth. If water is coming in right now, call our 24/7 emergency line instead of waiting on the form.
Removing moldy material can stir up mold spores and dust. Containment, such as sealing off the work area with plastic sheeting, helps keep that material from spreading to other parts of the building. EPA remediation guidance describes containment as a way to limit that spread. We put it up before any demolition.
The EPA says the purpose of mold cleanup is to remove the mold, and that using a biocide like chlorine bleach is not recommended as a routine practice during mold remediation. Dead mold can still cause allergic reactions in some people. Porous materials like drywall, ceiling tiles, and carpet that become moldy may need to be removed and replaced.
EPA guidance says that if the moldy area is less than about 10 square feet (roughly a 3 ft by 3 ft patch), you can usually handle it yourself by following its cleanup guidelines. Fix the water problem, clean hard surfaces, and dry everything completely. For larger areas, or if the water was contaminated (like sewage), the EPA suggests getting help from someone with mold cleanup experience.
According to the EPA, if you can see mold growing, sampling usually isn't necessary. There are no EPA or other federal limits for mold or mold spores, so testing results can't tell you whether a building "passes." What matters most is finding the moisture, removing the mold, and drying the area.
The EPA notes that mold can cause health effects in some people, including allergic reactions, and can trigger asthma attacks in people with asthma who are allergic to mold. Some people are more sensitive than others. If you have health concerns, talk to a medical professional. We're a remediation company, not a medical provider.
We take moisture readings. The drying equipment stays until the readings show dry, and those readings go into your job record. After the equipment is picked up, our office calls you within 72 hours to follow up.
We'll still find it and document it, and we'll tell you what kind of trade can fix it, such as a plumber or roofer. Remediation without fixing the source doesn't last.
